Limited-edition lines of handbags by Devi Kroell, Hollywould, Loeffler Randall and Gryson have all lined the shelves at Tarjay. Now, one of my favs, Botkier has arrived. Monica Botkier put herself on the map back in 2003 when she introduced her still popular “Trigger” bag. The Trigger has become Botkier’s signature bag and has been included in every collection since its launch. To keep up with current trends, colors and leather types are changed every season.
After the overwhelming success of the Trigger, Monica went on to add other handbags in many different styles to her collection. Today, in addition to a variety of stylish handbags, you can also buy Botkier shoes, boots and accessories.
Botkier is a luxury brand and the average handbag will run you over $600 at retail. So, if you missed out on the last Botkier sale, but would like to add some of the line’s signature style to your wardrobe for pennies on the dollar, head towards the red bullseye. Target. There is no leather to be found among the collection, but the pleather bags are stylish and some even invoke memories of the real deals.
The Botkier for Target handbags will be available online and in stores until September 15, 2008. Then the store will be making room for Anya Hindmarch’s collection. I can’t wait to see how Hindmarch of “I’m Not A Plastic Bag” fame is going to handle the pleather (PVC plastic) situation.
