Housing Works Warehouse Sale

The Housing Works Warehouse Sale (NYC)

What it is: Twice-monthly sale of second-hand clothing including “flawed, but fabulous” designer pieces. The clothing is overstock from the many Housing Works thrift stores throughout New York City.

How it works: You pay $20 and get a shopping bag to fill with as much clothing as you can. (You’ll have to fight for the designer stuff…if you can find it.)

New this year: You pay $30 and they will GIVE you a shopping bag filled entirely with men’s and women’s pre-sorted designer duds!

Much easier, don’t you think? Here’s a clever idea: Take a group of friends, get the $30 bags and have a swap meet. Take what’s left and swap with others.

All sales benefit Housing Works programs.

Housing Works is the nation’s largest non-profit minority-controlled AIDS service organization. Their mission is to reach the most vulnerable and under served among those affected by the AIDS epidemic in New York City, primarily homeless persons of color whose positive HIV diagnoses are complicated by a history of chronic mental illness and/or chemical dependence, and provide them with a comprehensive range of services designed to help them gain stability, independence, and dignity, and improve their overall health.
